I am riding for Ruffin King Jr of Charlottesville…
I’m riding on the Memphis to New Orleans leg of Light the Trail Ride for my nephew Ruffin King Jr of Charlottesville, VA, who tragically died by suicide in January of 2021. Ruffin is the son of my wife Sandra’s sister Adelaide and her husband Ruffin King Sr., and twin to his sister Alexandra. Ruffin was a tall, handsome 23 year old who had just graduated from the University of Virginia with a bright future and seemingly the world in the palm of his hand. He had a warm smile and was very bright. The trauma of Ruffin’s death has been significant in our family, but particularly for the Kings. We all miss him terribly. That the ride is ending in my home town has given me some additional motivation to ride for Ruffin.
